Acceptance Retreat

“You can’t stop the wave, but you can learn to surf.” – Joseph Goldstein
The Acceptance Retreat is an invitation to explore a new way of relating to the discomforts of life, as they will inevitably show up.
Over the last few years, most of us have been living with discomfort, physical or emotional pains and at times suffering. Human beings have evolved over time to avoid these discomforts with short term fixes or to ruminate its causes to find ways to release the suffering, often to no avail. However, the old adage of the more we resist, the more it persists is unfortunately true in most cases.
Alternatively, exploring acceptance, creating space or allowing it to be as a strategy to find greater inner peace has proven, over the millennia, as the most powerful way to navigate our physical and emotional challenges. To be noted, acceptance is not about resignation or lacking persistence. Acceptance is a learnt skill where we acknowledge and allow our thoughts, feelings and sensations to be present, dropping the struggle to wish they were something else, thus tapping into creativity and our inner wisdom with greater resilience, based on our deeply held values.
On March 25-27 2022, for a group of 25 people, Bhaskar Goswami and Carl Lemieux are delighted to combine their complementary ways of further develop acceptance in times of volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity.
Well-researched modern psychological frameworks will guide our weekend retreat, weaving in the ancient wisdom of Eastern philosophies to deliver a powerful experiential learning journey.

This retreat is an invitation to put away all distractions, so we may best explore and experience the clarity that lies within us.

- – Discover how and when these habitual patterns no longer us.
- – Embody how it feels to move toward unpleasant experience as a way of relieving suffering.

- – Experience acceptance as a practice.
